Borrowing some Mojo!

Today I am going to show you two cards that were based on a couple of cards that were made by the FABULOUS Kimberly Van Diepen. Her two cards can be seen by visiting her blog by clicking Here.

Then here is the first of my two cards. I should apologize before you see them. Not that the cards are bad but that my pictures are bad. First of all I took them on a blue background (what was I thinking) which throws all the colors off. Second I took them with my little Nikon not by wonderful Nikon D40 (which makes everything look lovely). So sorry the pictures are not that great. Please take my word on the colors especially on the 2nd card.

This first card is whisper white base & layers with the very vanilla & basic black dsp from love letters DSP. The button image is from the sew suite collection stamp set & the friend to friend (I just love these words) are from the teeny tiny wishes stamp set. The safety pin is from the vintage trinkets. The buttons are one from the bright collection & one from the subtles collection. Behind both whisper white pieces are basic black. One punched with the scallop oval & one with the lovely ribbon border punch.

Here is the second card (again sorry for the quality).

I wish this picture had come out better (or that I had time to reshoot it with my other camera) because it is so much prettier than this picture gives it credit for being. The base is crumb cake with the first layer being the pattern page of the sew suite collection designer paper pack. Then the next layer is basic gray with a piece of early espresso punched with the ribbon border punch behind it. Then the mannequin is stamped in early espresso ink on baja breeze cardstock (yes I swear the colors are right). Then the button is a basic gray button on a glue dot. Then 3 of the medium pearls from the mannequin's feet.

Tomorrow I will be showing some of the cards that are my favorite recent swaps remade with a little bit of changes. Then next week I will be showing you some of my favorite pages from my scrapbook in a day event today.

The Final Christmas Card Design!

Here it is...the final Christmas Card Design for my Christmas Card Event. Don't forget that registration ends this Sunday (October 24th) for this great Event. If you haven't yet signed up & still want to make sure you let me know ASAP.

This card is made with the stamp set Bells & Boughs. Which is currently part of Stampin' Up's Holiday Bundle Promotion with the designer series paper, Deck the Halls, that is used on this card. Then the whisper white card stock is embossed with plenty a petals embossing folder. The ribbon is always artichoke seam binding. The bells are stamped in Always Artichoke ink & punched out with 1 3/8" circle punch. Then glued to a 1 3/4" cherry cobbler circle punch.
We also will be making a cute gift bag as part of my Holiday Gift Event with this set & Designer Paper. Be on the lookout next week for a picture of it.

But we already know that our son's team will be in the playoffs. We are just waiting till tomorrow night when we find out who we play & where.

Flowers are Springing Up Everywhere!

Don't I wish! I am much more a warm weather gal. I am so thankful for this extra warm streak of weather that we are having this week. Where I love the change of seasons I just don't love every season. I like snow but only when I don't have to go out in it. But anyway, on to the project. I watched a great video on fellow Stampin' Up demonstrator Dawn Griffith's blog making these fantastic flowers. They are nowhere near as difficult as they look. This is an up close picture of one of the flowers. I used the designer series paper pack that is a level one hostess option. Then the center of the flower is the coordinating cardstock, poppy parade in this picture. Then I used champagne colored glimmer brads.

These 2 are poppy parade & peach parfait. Then here is how they looked on the bags that I will be giving to my customers that are coming this Saturday to A Card for Every Season. That way they have something pretty to carry their completed cards in.

I am going to be doing one for myself to hold all of my prepacked cards in. But I am going to decorate it with Halloween designer paper. I will add the picture of it when it is completed.

Oh my goodness have I been busy. Both with the family & stamping. I should have a new post every day for the next few days at least. So much is coming up for the next few months. It is just crazy. Make sure you keep an eye on my class & events schedules they will be filled in soon. Get signed up for your favorites as soon as possible because space is limited.
Ok today's post goes with the previous one. It is a pendent made with designer paper & a washer. Yes I said a washer, like bolt, nut & washer. At my gift event on December 4th, you will be able to choose a bracelet &/or a pendent set that will have 5 interchangeable washers decorated front & back, 2 different colored bracelet &/or pendent straps and will come in a metal tin that we will decorate with a designer paper bow. I will post the tin & bow on a later post, hopefully next week.

This is the front but could be switched around to be the back.

With this side. Sorry about the blurry picture...not sure what happened with that one. : )

Here it is so you can see the whole necklace. It has a lobster clasp it is just hard to make out in either of these pictures.
